When it comes to DIY home decorating I'm all about ease and style and inexpensiveness.  Those three ingredients combine for a win-win-win in my world.  So why not a weathered flag made from (free?!!) paint sticks and bedazzled with fun beach mementos from a Summer Vaca! 

When I found this most adorable project from Crafts by Amanda I immediately Pin'd it to my DIY Friday Pinterest board.  Amanda has a great tutorial on the how-to's of this easy afternoon project that even the kiddo's can help out on.  Paint the sticks to match your personal home decor or go for the traditional red, white & blue to create a rustic American flag!  I love the whimsy of star fish but this beach flag would be cute decorated with just about all kinds of beach treasures.

Even with newborn twins we did manage to get to the beach this summer.  Unfortunately the only treasures my little ones collected were "beautiful" broken shell fragments.  Next Summer I will go beach combing with this fun paint stick project in mind!
