The Sock Bun.  If you haven't heard of it surely you've seen one.  The perfect round bun that isn't just a puny little rolled up hunk of hair on top of your head.  That's how'd I would describe the buns I used to try 'n rock that is UNTIL I saw the infamous 'Sock Bun' on, you guessed it, Pinterest.

The best thing about this is how easy it is.  The lovely Miss Morgan Beek over at Beek's Beauty Blog composed the great picture tutorial you see above.  
The donut thing she's holding up in the top pic is a "hair donut" available to purchase.  Me, I just went old school Sock Bun style and found a (clean) dress sock, scissored off the toe part and rolled it up.  That, my sweet sisters, is the cherry on top of your
Sock Bun sundae.

Slip your pony tail through with a bit sticking out and start rolling it down your head.  As you do so spread your hair around the sock (to cover it up) and tuck the ends of your hair around it as you continue to roll it down.  Once it's sitting proudly on top of your head you can make sure no strays are poking out.  Just poke them under the sock if you need to.

You'll be amazed how it holds all by itself.  Feel free to bobby pin it if you'd like.  Or better yet doll it up with a cute flower clip or sparkly headband.  Wear it tight and sleek or loose and messy.  Dress it up or rock it with a pair of sweats.  Either way, no more bad hair days.  Thank you Sock Bun!
