Personalize Your School Supplies with Duck Tape®

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walmart for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Personalize Your School Supplies with Duck Tape
I have 4 kiddo’s in school this year.  Holy smokes I feel old.  And with 4 kiddo’s comes 4 times the back-to-school supplies and 4 lists that seem to get bigger each year.  Plus my oldest is starting Junior High this year and it’s killing me.  Slowly and painfully.  But I took this opportunity to spend a little extra time with him and towed him to Walmart to help me gather up the plethora of supplies.  Doesn't he just look thrilled in this picture?  "This is going on your blog isn't it Mom?"  Yep, sure is!

I was given this great opportunity, and challenge if you will from Duck Tape® to create a fun back-to-school project using Duck Tape®.  I grabbed my boy by the hand (not really, he’s too cool for that now) and headed over to the Duck Tape® isle.  I just love all the neat designs they come in now, don’t you?  If this is the first time you’ve been made aware of how colorful and pretty Duck Tape® has become then I suggest you go see for yourself next time you go to Walmart!

I told my Junior Higher for coming along and helping me he could pick out any tape he wanted to for personalizing his supplies.  He was quickly drawn to the Oregon Duck College Line of Duck Tape®.  His grandma had already let him pick out a backpack and he chose an Oregon Ducks backpack.  Go Ducks!  “Personalize?” he asked.  Yep.  I said it would be a fun way to make his black binder that 50 million other Junior Higher’s would also have stand out.  And that expensive calculator we had to purchase would also be uniquely his (without having to write his name all over it like I had to do for summer camp when he was a kid!)  He liked this idea so off we were with his Duck Tape® pick.

When we got home we simply taped a strip diagonally across his binder and the outside cover of his calculator.  We also cut out a section and covered the label on a notebook.  I cut out an “O” for him to put on the backside of his ruler and “Oregon” to put across his pencil sharpener.  Easy!  And fun!  Plus I got to sneak in a little extra time with my boy who’s growing up way to fast.  It’s killing me.  Slowly and painfully.

If you are looking for more inspiration follow @TheDuckBrand on Twitter for tons of creative ideas!  If you are looking for a way to sneak in some one-one-one time with your kiddo's before school starts, I suggest you go buy Duck Tape at Walmart and have fun personalizing their school supplies with their own style!  =)

  1. Great idea! Our kids are grown, so no more school identification needed. I love your son's expression and comment of "This is going on your blog, isn't it mom?" lol ... my hubby has said "For your blog again?" (as I grab my camera and capture a moment) to me throughout the few years of my blogging.

    Blessings & Aloha!
