Find YOUR Perfect Cleaning Routine ~ SuperMom Monday

Find YOUR Perfect Cleaning Routine ~ SuperMom Monday
Cleaning Schedules.  They're like Chore Charts for Moms.  Since last week we talked about how to create Chores without the Fight for our kiddo's, I thought we outta come up with one of our own.  That way we have more time to do the things we want to do ~ like be a Mom, not a Maid.

Now years ago when I first discovered The Fly Lady and her system was the first time I felt like I got on top of my chores.  I didn't have to clean my house all day long in order to have a clean house.  I do own a copy of her 'Control Journal' which contains everything from routines, to detailed cleaning lists, shopping lists and more...all customize-able.  If you haven't ever heard of The Finally Loving Yourself Lady and her amazing system, you should really check out her site.  She doesn't have any free printables but does have an amazing website where you can see daily cleaning schedules and even recieve email reminders!  Follow me on Facebook where I post a 'Sneak Peek for the Week' every Sunday.

I have continued to tweak my daily cleaning routine to fit my life at any particular moment.  Summer time, for instance, my routine changes as then I have more 'helpers' at home! Whoo Hoo!  Extracurricular activities that change result in my routine changing.  My life has taken another turn in which my old routine no longer works for me ~ preggo with twin's on the way has kicked my butt more then I ever imagined!  Here I am 30 weeks & measuring 38 at my two-year old's birthday party last weekend.

Standing for more then 15 minutes now results in what my doc calls 'fatigue contractions' meaning I have to sit with my feet up.  Doesn't sound so bad except with a hubbie & 5 other kiddo's to take care of my house has, to say the least, been neglected.

So I've been on a mission to find something that works good for me now (being able to only do bit's at a time) as it will also work great when I have TWO sweet babies taking all my time as they eat & poop, poop & eat =)

I printed out all kinds of free printable cleaning schedules that I've been hording on my Pinterest Board entitled Free Printables to see what would work best for me.  A nice thing about these printables is they are all easy to print.  No signing up for a program in order to download & print.  Most of the crafty bloggers who created them allow you to just right click & save to your computer or print from the screen.  Also many of these printables come in a blank or editable version as well so you can customize to fit your particular needs.  For instance, not many listed "Do a load of laundry" as an everyday task.  Me, I have to do one load a day or I am drowning in dirty clothes.

Some of these lovely bloggy ladies created not just daily cleaning schedules but also weekly, monthly and even annual chores to remember!  So please, if you find a schedule that looks promising link to that site, print, and then leave a sweet comment thanking them for their craftiness in creating a printable for you and offering it for FREE!  I just love freebies  =)

This is the particular routine I am currently doing working up to.  I really like this one because it's a little different.  She describes this routine as "Instead of breaking up the chores by rooms, I clean the rooms up by jobs!"  Focusing on one type of cleaning and work your way through the house, Dusting Day for example.

This might not be the cutest printable, but a great one nonetheless!  It's based on The Fly Lady's system but with a twist and great for a whole-house tidy ~

So you've found YOUR perfect cleaning routine...now what?  My advice is to print a high-resolution copy and put it into a plastic sleeve and hang it on your fridge.  That way you can check off your tasks with a dry erase pen and use it every day.  Or my particular favorite, put it in a pretty picture frame and display it in your SuperMom command center (where ever that may be!).  The glass works as a dry-erasable surface.  Why not make your every-day not-so-fun tasks a little bit easier prettier?

I love Flylady. She is what got me started organizing and then I had a chance to meet her (by phone) and she propelled me into blogging, too. Marla is the best!

  11. Wow Marcy! This is fantastic. I have such a hard time getting organized with my cleaning. I am always flying by the seat of my pants and it drives me crazy. I work all day, but I still need to clean. This will certainly help. I am a big fan of the flylady, but I got away from it for a while. I think I was overwhelmed because of lack of time. However, I do swear by my shiny sink.
